Tivoli during Christmas – counting down to Christmas – day 11
Yesterday evening we went to the Tivoli gardens to look at the Christmas decorations. With glögg in one hand and a pocket filled with roasted almonds, we were simply enjoying ourselves.
Let me take you for a little walk. Tivoli Gardens is definitely a place to go in Copenhagen if you want to quickly get into Christmas mood. Truth be told, I have never seen so many Christmas trees in one place.
Tivoli Garden is an amusement park with many interesting traditions. It was opened back in 1843 and is located in the center of Copenhagen. Yes, yes, in the middle of the city. If you are around you can easily find it by listening to the people screaming. Some of the attractions looks pretty scary.
Besides the scary rides, the garden is full of small shops and restaurants, where besides some seasonal delicacies, you can find toys, clothes, lights, posters, etc. Oh and candies, a lot of different kinds of candies.
I did a short video to capture the dance of lights in Tivoli. The quality is not too good, but captured some memories. Scroll down to see it.
What is the place in your city that makes you immediately feel the Christmas mood?
